County Lines Child Trafficking Community and Family Support Manager

AFRUCA - Safeguarding Children is a national charity promoting the safeguarding and well-being of children in Black and Minority Ethnic communities. AFRUCA has its Head Office in London and a Centre for Children and Families in Manchester.

This position will enable us at AFRUCA to provide early help and prevention services for parents in Black and Minority Ethnic communities across Manchester whose children are at risk of county lines child trafficking and other forms of criminal exploitation. The post holder will work with others within and outside AFRUCA to assist parents understand the indicators of exploitation which their children might be exposed to and support them to access early help from local agencies across Manchester before problems escalate. They will also engage different communities to raise awareness of country lines child trafficking and criminal exploitation.

We want to recruit a strong candidate passionate about the well-being and safety of children, with good knowledge of local service delivery and how they impact families. You must be a team-player, adaptable to working in a small, non-statutory setting. You must be able to work in a non-oppressive and non-discriminatory way with migrant/asylum seeking families.

This position will be suitable for a candidate with strong background in community advocacy and family support work.

The post holder must undergo an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check to confirm suitability working in a regulated activity with children and their families. Benefits include 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays, 5% pension contributions and regular supervision.
